Jerusalem & Abstract (New Work)
I've tried to capture the ancient city of Jerusalem with the crowded streets and cluster of houses. I'm very influenced by Byzantine mosaics, since I lived in Rome at the age of 23 attending the Academy of Fine Arts. I visited many churches and it has left a lasting impression on my work.
This little painting reflects the intertwined roads, highways and biways around the city. New Yorkers are a very fast moving population and this painting is an expression of this energy.
